Evoking a Sense of Place

**** This course has now SOLD OUT ****

This is a special Garden Study Day in support of Perennial, the only charity dedicated to looking after all UK horticulturists in times of need.

Tuesday 18 April: 9.45 to 5pm at Allt-y-bela

In the morning Arne will explain some of the history of the house, and how the challenges of the site caused a subtle shift in his design approach.  He will then guide the group around his garden describing his thought processes whilst sharing his gardening passions that have shaped his particular visual aesthetic.

Before a delicious three-course lunch, Arne will invite you to look around the house, with drinks and canapés, so that you have an understanding of the important links between the inside and outside spaces and how to draw out and bring together the landscape, location and architectural style of a place.

In the afternoon, Arne will showcase other projects in addition to Allt-y-bela through an illustrated talk, explaining how the close attention to detail of the site and location have influenced design decisions. Our day will finish with tea and cakes and a chance to ask questions.

Course cost: £230 including lunch and refreshments
